ABOUT US
The Key was born from a simple idea: to connect young writers and highlight their work through publication. More than just a publication, though, we want to create a community. I have not always considered myself a writer, but from a childhood spent surrounded by books I knew that I wanted to be one. The difference between idealization and action came from community; my writer friends, whether they knew it or not, pushed me to become who I am today. The Key will foster a sense of community through planned events, such as poetry slams and writers' salons, as well as the online Writer's Lab, where anyone looking for inspiration or a critique of their work will be welcomed and helped. I sincerely hope that this endeavor will create a culture of creativity, appreciation, and confidence.
